BOXED UP
Boxed Up is a single-player puzzle/simulation game focused on problem solving, experimentation, and humour.
I served as a Game Designer and Technical Lead, guiding the project from initial concept through Steam launch. I led a multidisciplinary team, designed core gameplay systems, and built foundational frameworks to support rapid iteration and onboarding.

Boxed Up is a single player puzzle/simulator game where you work as an employee for a package company. In this world, monsters have been using the postal service to travel from place to place. It is your job to identity these boxes and either send them or deny them, depending on whether there is a monster inside or not.
My idea was initially going to have more of a slight horror theme, but the team and I decided to move to a tongue and cheek goofy art style. We wanted to make the game funny and have some personality.
My jobs included:
- Making the elevator pitch and finalized game pitch
- Leading and teaching a team of programmers who were unfamiliar with Unreal engine 5
- Prototyping certain mechanics
- Framework Creation
I made numerous informational slide decks to help my team, and also created a framework with the basic controls, allowing for an easy start off point for the team. I also created the weight scale and the metal detector blueprints for the game
This project let me lead a small team and find out what its liking in a more senior position inside of one. I was leading meetings and was responsible for the work that the team produced.
